Vocational Training Instructor

Exciting new position in the VTEC (Vocational Training and Empowerment Center) Program. Seeking an individual to assist in teaching various vocational disciplines to assist individuals to be work ready upon competition of their course studies.

Responsible for the implementation of Opportunity Enterprises’ Vocational Training and Empowerment Center’s (VTEC) curriculum. This position will provide training, education, and ongoing coaching to students who are transitioning to the workforce and gaining certification through a post-secondary experience. Discipline of instruction is soft-skills, along with Electronic Recycling – Light Industrial.

Responsibilities

• Effectively implement and teach a vocational-based curriculum
• Introduce basic concepts of community employment

• Determines the best method to deliver needed training; prepares materials, locations, and supplies accordingly
• Explains and demonstrates jobs and tasks to be performed
• Explains, demonstrates, and emphasizes all safety aspects of jobs and tasks
• Schedules, organizes and provides supplemental training when necessary
• Provide Job Coaching services to individuals placed within a partner business

• Other duties as assigned by the manager/director

Physical Requirements

• Move up to 25 pounds without assistance

• Move 50 pounds assisted
• Stand for long periods of time

• Sit for long periods of time

• Strong time management and organizational skills
• High level of dependability

• Must have high school diploma/GED
• Must be 18 years or older
• Vocational training preferred
• Certified Production Technician (CPT) certification preferred
